Privacy & cookies policy
Last updated 8 June 2026
This policy explains how the LGBT Accountants website (lgbtaccountants.co.uk) collects and uses your personal data when you visit the site or get in touch with us through it. It covers the relationship between this website and you as a visitor.
This policy is separate from any client relationship. If you go on to engage Carr Accounting Studio as an accounting client, that is a different relationship, governed by a separate engagement letter and the firm's own client privacy notice. Using this website does not make you a client, and this policy does not cover any work the firm does for clients.
Who we are
The website is operated by Carr Accounting Studio (company no. 14573122), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration reference ZB916492.
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at david@carraccountingstudio.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
- Enquiries you send us. If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email, we use the details you give us (such as your name, contact details and what you tell us about your business) to respond to you and discuss how we might help. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request and our legitimate interest in responding to you.
- Usage and device data. If you accept analytics cookies, we collect basic information about how the site is used (for example pages viewed and general location). Our lawful basis is your consent. See Cookies below.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of trusted third-party providers to run the website and our communications — for example for website hosting, email delivery, usage analytics, and call bookings. They process data only on our instructions.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to EU standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism. We may also disclose data where required by law.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These do not need consent.
We also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. These are only set if you accept themusing the banner shown when you first visit. You can decline, and declining is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond to you and, where relevant, to follow up — and then no longer than necessary. Analytics data is retained for a limited period in line with our provider's settings. We do not keep personal data longer than we need to.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, our use of it;
- ask us to transfer it to another provider; and
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
To exercise any of these, email david@carraccountingstudio.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no website or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access that occurs despite those measures.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
